GMAT Exam Pattern
The GMAT exam pattern provides details about the number of sections in the exam, questions in each section, the time limit to each section and various other question paper format-related details. These details are essential for the candidates as they can prepare accordingly for the exam. Being well-versed with the GRE exam pattern and further crucial details increase the chances of getting a good GRE score.
The GMAT exam includes 4 sections: Verbal Reasoning, Quantitative Reasoning, Analytical writing assessment and integrated reasoning. These sections have their specified number of questions and time limits. We shall discuss all of it one by one.
GMAT Exam Pattern: Verbal Reasoning
This section will include 36 questions. The time duration for the same is 65 minutes. The candidates must attempt the section within the prescribed time limit. The candidates can score between 6 to 51 marks in this section.
GMAT Exam Pattern: Quantitative Reasoning
This section will include 31 questions from various mathematical concepts. The candidates shall complete the section within the prescribed time limit of 62 minutes—the scores in this section range from 6 marks to 51 marks.
GMAT Exam Pattern: Analytical Writing Assessment
There will be just one question/task in the analytical writing assessment. The candidates have 30 minutes to complete the task. The score in this section ranges from 0 marks to 6 marks.
GMAT Exam Pattern: Integrated Reasoning
This section focuses on various aspects of reasoning apart from quantitative reasoning. There will be 12 questions in total. The time limit is 30 minutes. The scores will range from 1 mark to 8 marks in this section.

Latest changes in GMAT 2023!
Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC), the administering body of GMAT, released specific changes in the GMAT exam,
- The number of attempts on the GMAT exam was earlier limited to 2. However, now the candidates can appear for the exam 5 times in a rolling 12-month period and 8 in a lifetime.
- GMAC shall now accept Aadhar Cards as valid identity proof for GMAT computer-based exam/online exam.
These changes have been introduced to bring in as many students as possible.
